FloriFence is a year-round service provider for fencing installations in Florida. Our customers trust us to give honest advice and incredible service, guaranteed. We are also willing to answer their questions about fencing installation to help them be more prepared for their project.
One of the most common questions we receive is, “When is the best time of year to install a fence?” Because we are based in Florida, no season is technically off-limits due to snow or freezing weather. In fact, we often recommend customers schedule their projects for the cooler months because there are some unique advantages to waiting for this time.
Below are some of the reasons we recommend scheduling your fence installation during the spring, rather than during Florida’s summer months:
Summer sun can cause damage to new wood
Many homeowners choose wood fencing for its natural appearance and affordable price. However, wood is highly susceptible to sun damage without proper protection. This risk is even greater for new wood, as it can dry out and crack in direct sunlight. If you are planning to install a wood fence, we recommend avoiding the hot, rainy summer months. However, if you are choosing a different fencing material, this will not be an issue for you.
The off-season allows your contractor to give you more attention
Typically, FloriFence is busiest during the late spring and summer months. People are inspired to take on new home improvement projects, and our plate becomes full very quickly. However, if you’re in no rush to install new fencing, we recommend selecting a time when our schedule is lighter. This gives us more time to focus on your project and customize your installation schedule to fit your needs. Early spring is also a relatively calm season, so call our offices today to get an early start!
In winter you’ll have fewer landscaping obstacles
If you are an avid gardener, you may want to wait until winter to install your fencing. Winter is typically the time when you’ll be planning new landscaping for spring instead of growing new plants. Installing your fencing during this time gives us more room to work, and will help you visualize your new landscape before planning for spring.
